It holds true not only for the players taking part in the Puskás-Suzuki Cup, but the tournament itself has also become U17, this year being the last one when we can state that it remounts to less than seventeen years. The young people in this year's tournament were born at the time we planned and then organised the first PSC back in 2008. Even then, our aim was to create a tradition and come up with a top-class youth tournament in the heart of Europe, at Puskás Akadémia, so determined to renew Hungarian football, and which would be attended every year by the most important clubs of Ferenc Puskás' career, namely Honvéd, Real Madrid and Panathinaikos, along with the best of the region and other world-famous teams, such as most recently Juventus and Rangers. Future national team players and Champions League winners have played here over the years, and several of the former Puskás Akadémia players will be there at the European Championship in Germany this summer, much to the delight of Hungarians. And that is precisely the point: many of the players take an important step towards becoming great players here at the Puskás-Suzuki Cup. I wish all participants this and, of course, to experience the famous hospitality of the Hungarians, also so characteristic of Ferenc Puskás. Dear Football Enthusiasts,

Ten years ago, when Pancho Aréna was inaugurated with the final of the Puskás-Suzuki Cup, and Puskás Akadémia were facing Real Madrid, two players who have since made their mark on the international stage, current 40-cap Hungarian
national team player Roland Sallai in one team, and current Getafe goalscorer Borja Mayoral in the other one, were storming the opponent’s goal. This duel is a perfect representation of the spirit in which we the tournament was conceived:
we wished to create quality, a showcase for players from the best youth teams in Europe and even the world, to prove their talent and try their strength and skills with their counterparts from other footballing cultures. Our efforts were crowned with success, as thanks to the huge interest the tournament has grown to eight participating teams over the years, and in addition to Puskás Akadémia and the teams having Öcsi as a player and coach, real football giants have become returning guests - even from outside Europe. This year's Puskás-Suzuki Cup was organised in line with the founding idea, and we have brought together a stronger field than perhaps ever before. I am particularly pleased that, in addition to the regular and returning participants, this year's newcomers include two iconic clubs such as 36-time Italian champions and two times European Champions’ Cup/CL winners Juventus and 55-time Scottish First Division champions Rangers FC - I hope their first experience here will make them want to return.

I warmly welcome everyone to the 16th Puskás–Suzuki Cup. Magyar Suzuki has been supporting this youth tournament since its inception because we believe in nurturing talent and promoting programs that foster building communities. At our manufacturing facility in Esztergom, we also place great emphasis on communal experiences and activities that demonstrate our appreciation for the commitment, loyalty, and team spirit of our colleagues. Few sports in the world can involve so many people and evoke such strong emotions as football. Over the years, the Puskás–Suzuki Cup has provided countless joyful and touching moments for all of us. This is understandable because the tournament is about passion, teamwork, and love for the sport. As the ball rolls on the field, we share the excitement and joy together. However, the cup is not just about the game; it's also about community. We can reconnect with old friends, meet new people, and collectively experience the magic of football, moments that will remain memorable for us forever.I wish everyone a great time, and to the players, may you have competitive and fair matches filled with goals. Let this football tournament be once again a celebration of sport and friendship this year!
