The very first pieces of the Puskás Academy building complex, which is the venue for the Puskás–Suzuki Cup, began to take shape in 2006. A year later the football workshop in Felcsút took the name of the greatest Hungarian football
player, and academy football training was also launched. The more than fifteen years since we received the Puskás name have brought many innovations. The academy building complex was built around the old central pitch, with the
crop warehouse becoming a dormitory, and a medical centre and restaurant also being established. The about 3,900-seat Pancho Arena, which gets its name from the nickname Puskás was given in Spain, was opened in 2014. The Sports and Conference Centre of Puskás Academy, the professional stronghold of our academy and the cathedral of sports and science, was opened in 2018. In the meantime, the number of training grounds has increased, the largest sports complex in Hungary has been established, and in parallel with the infrastructural developments, academy football training has also undergone huge changes. More and more young footballers have come to our training centre, and our teams have started league competition at almost all ages. Our first team, which has been in the top tier since 2013, has written football history in just a few years: Puskás Akadémia FC were runners-up in the Hungarian Cup in 2018 and, with more and more home grown footballers in their ranks, finished third in 2020, second in 2021 and third again in 2022 in the OTP Bank League, thus qualitying for the Europa League and the Europa Conference League. Our women’s team is also going to play in the top tier, and finished second in 2023 in the Simple Women's Cup. Our building complex has a bronze statue of Puskás, in front of the dormitory, at the centre of the academy. All the structures of our football complex are in line with the mission of Puskás Academy: to be a worthy setting for football education.
